Ummah Library is a community-led, Muslim-owned library dedicated to sharing halal Islamic content freely within the Ummah. Membership is free and open — we invite members to curate and seed together. We use BitTorrent technology to provide fast, reliable access to:
- Quran Recitations — Beautiful tilawat from renowned Qaris worldwide
- Islamic Lectures — Authentic knowledge from trusted scholars
- Nasheeds — Halal audio (vocals only or with duff)
- Islamic Books — PDF, ePub, and audiobooks
- Documentaries — Islamic history and educational content
Why BitTorrent? Files are shared directly between community members — no central server holds your data. More seeders means faster downloads for everyone.
Install a BitTorrent Client
To download content, you need a BitTorrent client. We recommend qBittorrent — it's free, open-source, and has no ads or spyware.
Download qBittorrent:
Avoid uTorrent — it contains ads, bloatware, and has bundled cryptocurrency miners in the past.
Join Ummah Library
Membership is free and open to the Ummah. Create your free UmmahPass account and you are in — no invitation required.
How to join:

- No UmmahPass yet? Create your free account in seconds
Download Islamic Content
After signing in, here's how to download:
- Browse our collection or search for specific content
- Click Download on any content page
- Save the
.torrentfile to your computer - Open the file with qBittorrent
- Choose where to save the content and click OK
Pro tip: Look for items with many seeders — more seeders means faster downloads.
Seed Your Downloads
Seeding = Sharing. After your download completes, keep the torrent running so others can download from you.
Required: Seed each torrent for at least 72 hours or until you reach a 1.0 ratio.
Seeding is an act of sadaqah jariyah — you are helping other Muslims access Islamic knowledge, and the reward continues as long as others benefit from it.
Understanding Your Ratio
Your ratio = Amount Uploaded ÷ Amount Downloaded
| Ratio | Status |
|---|---|
| Below 0.5 | Warning — may lose download privileges |
| 0.5 – 1.0 | Acceptable |
| Above 1.0 | Excellent — JazakAllahu Khairan! |
New members: You have a 2-week grace period to build your ratio. Use this time wisely!
